Day Trip To Sadler Wells

On 3rd December
We learnt about all the different jobs people had, and how they worked.
The first place that we went was the mini theatre and we stood on the stage and Sarah (one of the workers at content) talked to us about the staging area, and how many seats the mini theatre could hold. She also gave us a tour around Sadlers Wells with her two colleagues. The reason why it was called 'Sadler Wells' is because Mr. R Sadler found a well in the theatre, therefore got the name 'Sadler Wells'
After that, we went to the main stage. We had a tour backstage, and saw were they dance, before they come on stage. The dance room backstage is the same size as the stage, so that the dancers can practise with the right amount of space.
Then we went onto the stage, and there were people doing their jobs there, so we saw what they were doing. But we got in the way, so we had to go off stage.
Overall the day was good and enjoyable. Also we learnt alot and therefore i know more stuff, and it is very important.

Tate Britain

On 18th November 2008, we went to Tate Britain to look at two main exhibitions- ‘The Turner Prize 2008’ and ‘Francis Bacon’
Firstly we went to ‘ The Turner Prize 2008’
When we got in, we looked at the four artists; Runa Islam, Mark Leckey, Goshka Macuga, Cathy Wilkes.

After The Turner Prize 2008, we went to the 'Francis Bacon exhibition' He had 10 different rooms. We had to draw at lest one painting/ drawing of his in every room.
His art work was hard for me, because i didn't understand how he got his paintings so popular.

Rob from M&csaatchi

On Tuesday 21 October a man came into our class for a workshop. During that workshop we learnt how to put our ideas on to a poster about road safety.
At the end of the lesson we had to do a power point about what our poster is about.

The thing that was successful was that our group worked well together. We all listened to other people's ideas.
I enjoyed trying to make the poster and showing it to the class
We found hard to make the idea come onto a post

interviewing skills- media

In this media lesson, we had to learn how to interview people with good questions.
Firstly got into partners and ask and answer questions.
Later on in the media lesson we watched Kitty interview Simon.

What makes a good interview technique?

•Eye contact
•Being friendly and encouraging while still making your point
•Using open ended questions
•Projection and confidence
•Prepare your questions beforehand
•Before the interview, chat and put your interviewee at ease
•Give out the questions in advance so answers can prepared
•Responding to the answers you get

If i was to have a job about interviewing, i would like to be the camera woman or the microphone holder.
If i was going to be the camera woman, i would really like it because, i have learnt a lot about how to use a camera eg: turn it on, film something/someone ect...
Also i would like to be a microphone holder because it is a very simple job to do. I just have to hold the microphone and try not to get it in the way of the camera.

Drama

07-10-2008

Reflecting on my filmed performance.

1.I presented information for my target audience, which was 7-10 year olds.

2. The way I could of made things more informative is by talking to the camera and making it more understandable. Make the lighting much better, e.g. making it lighter and darker at times.

3.Using drama was a way of presenting information because someone was performing in front of the camera. That gave information about what they were talking about.

4.The techniques that I will include in my presentation to make it more informative and educational is by having a convention

5.The things that I learned in my area are that there are a lot of theatres in Hackney and London. Also there are different types of plays and for different audiences.

6.The one thing that I needed to improve my presentation was not showing my back to the audience.
If that was different, then it would have been clearer of who I was playing.

7.My acting in the presentation was quite good. Because I was playing a 7-year-old girl and I don’t like acting out children. The thing that was effective was the way that myself and Yasmin thought of the idea of the telly and how we practise it over and over again, until we got it right. We needed to work on were I was standing/sit, because my back was facing the audience.

Drama ict and preformance.

This drama lesson we had to bee in the same groups as we were in last time.
Kubra wasn't in so, Yasmin and myself were together.
When Ms. Cornish gave us a target group ( 10 year old) we had to make up a little play given out information about a play that was going on.
We then went onto the Little Angel Theatre and found out that 'Sleeping Beauty' was playing.
So after that we started to think of what is a good way of given out information to 10 year old.
We decide that we would have a telly and that Yasmin was given out the information. I was the 10 year old watching the telly.
Once we practice a lot of times, it was time to preform to the class.
We also had to be filmed as well.
For the first few performance Yasmin was holding the camera, and i was holding the mike.

BBC Trip

On Thursday 11th of September we went to vist The BBC.We got a bus and then two trains to White City. When we got there, we had to wait downstairs for the people to get ready for us.
We got upstairs and sat down in rows of four. The male teacher showed us a clip from Eastenders. We had to say "Cut" every time the camera moved shot.
After this, he talked to us about how to us the camera's. Then we got into groups. My group was: Gina, Cheyenne,Farah and Kai. He then gave us a piece of paper with title's on them and we had to chose one. The one that we choose was "The man/woman, who fell to Earth" We had to plan out what we were going to film.
After that, we went outside to start filming. We had less than an hour. We had lunch after that. When lunch was over, we went up stairs to start editing on the computer.Because our group was to big, we had to be in two groups.
I was with Gina. Cheyenne,Farah and Kia were on another computer. After a long day, we had to go back to school.
See you soon.... :)

Drama in Ict

Last drama lesson, we went into the computer room.
Our teacher put us into groups of 3-4.We had to do some research on the Internet to find out 'What Is Going On In London'
Firstly we brainstormed names of theatres. Then after that we found out what was playing on the theatres. While i was looking at some of the theatres, Yasmin and Kubra were making a powerpoint.
